Anthony Nolan

Not quite an in-depth post today, but something that is very close to me is the charity Anthony Nolan, which some of you may already be aware of.

This isn't an advert at all, I'm not asking for anything just thought I'd mention how easy it is to join the Anthony Nolan register.

It's a charity that matches blood stem cells or bone marrow with those suffering from blood cancer and in need of a transplant. Many blood cancer patients have to wait for weeks or months until their blood match is found.

I'm not going to give a sob story, it's simply that with younger blood being the most healthy and therefore sought after, it also happens to be the demographic with the fewest on the register, with just 16% aged between 16 and 30.

So maybe consider it, you don't have to, but now you know about it. I'll look to write a slightly lighter hearted piece next time though :)
